Curt Gesch’s poetry reflects on a lifelong practice of faith. His words inquire into the relationship between the human and the divine, and explore how a human being, with all the limitations of creaturehood, can find in the material world moments of transcendence. Gesch invites us along on his quest to find the sacred just underneath the rugs of our everyday lives:

Come quickly:
I have willows aplenty
lots of time
and an inclination
to go fishing,

having already been caught,
and released.

(from “Vocation”)

Curt Gesch is a retired schoolteacher who is passionate about creation care. He and his wife, Betsey, live on a 153-acre farm - growing forages while enhancing wildlife habitat - in Quick, B.C. They raise a few dexter cows, chickens, and many fruits and vegetables. Curt writes on wildlife and agriculture for Christian Courier magazine. He enjoys playing psalms and hymns on the piano and dabbles in jazz improvisations.
